FAQs

  • The way I like to explain coaching is: imagine you’re trying to find something in your house — could be your keys, your confidence, a better way to work or why you can't change a habit. Instead of continung to wander around alone and frustrated, we team up and go look for it together.

You’re the expert (it’s your house) — my job is to shine a light in the dark corners and ask the questions that get you closer to what you’re actually after. Sometimes you’ll find what you thought you lost was right there all along. Other times, you’ll discover something new you didn’t even know you were looking for.

That’s coaching: a creative, collaborative search party for your potential, your goals or your next move. It’s about turning confusion into clarity — and making sure you don’t waste time stuck in the wrong room.

  • Coaching is forward-focused work that helps you figure out where you want to go and how to get there without tripping over your own feet. It’s a personalized, goal-oriented process that helps you level-up — whether that's in your career, your business, your creative work, your health, your day-to-day life (or all of it). Coaching is more focused on getting you from the present to the future (ahem). It’s about unlocking your potential and getting past the blocks that are holding you back from where you want to be, what you want to do and how you want to feel.

Therapy, on the other hand, usually involves more looking backward to understand how your past experiences, trauma or mental health challenges are showing up in your present. Therapists are licensed professionals trained to diagnose and treat psychological issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD and more. Many of my clients have worked with therapists in the past or still do. And if we bump into something that’s outside my scope, I’ll absolutely recommend therapy (and even help you find the right fit if needed).

  • They’re both partnerships, but coaching is us going on a search together. I’m asking the questions, helping you spot the clues and guiding you to find your own answers and solutions.

With consulting, I’m stepping in with a toolbox and a map because I already know the best way to fix a specific problem or get a particular job done. Whether you’re building a business, trying to keep your team healthy and happy or looking for help with marketing strategy, I’ll come in, assess the situation, and then offer guidance and suggestions.

That said, the way I work, there’s a healthy amount of coaching in almost all of my consulting work. Especially if you need help visioning what you want.

If you’re not sure which you need, get in touch and we’ll figure it out together.

  • This is a question I get asked A LOT. I describe burnout as complete mental, physical and emotional exhaustion. The truth is, burnout shows up a little different for everyone.

Some common signs to watch for:

    • Apathy or a major lack of motivation

    • Feelings of dread, numbness or cynicism

    • Difficulty finding joy in things you used to love

    • Trouble sleeping — or wanting to sleep all the time

    • Brain fog, decision fatigue, having a really hard time focusing

    • Irritability or overreacting to small things

    • Retreating away from people you love or avoiding connection

    • Headaches, stomach issues, or getting sick more often

This isn’t medical advice, and having one or two of these doesn’t automatically mean you’re burned out — but if this list feels a little too familiar, it might be time to pay attention.

Burnout is a lot easier to prevent than it is to recover from. If you think you’re heading that way, let’s talk before you hit the wall.

  • So many different types of amazing people! Executives and creative professionals at all levels, founders and business owners, freelancers, artists and music industry professionals (as that’s the space I’ve spent over two decades in, so I know the unique challenges of the business).

I’ve worked with label and publishing executives, artist managers, agents, publicists, marketing folks, music tech folks, entertainment attorneys, tour managers, live event pros, producers, engineers, touring crew, musicians, writers, designers, stylists, therapists, other coaches and more.

  • Generally, we’ll kick things off with a free 45-minute call. This is a chance for us to talk honestly about what challenges you’re navigating, where you are with them, what’s feeling stuck and what kind of support you’re really looking for. You don’t need to have all the answers — I’ll help you get clarity on your goals and what’s getting in the way.

If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we’ll discuss options for coaching or consulting work based on your needs, whether you’re looking for ongoing support, a short-term reset or something more hands-on and strategic.

If you're looking for something for your company or team, it’s a similar process — we’ll have a chat about what you’re looking for, and I’ll create a package or program tailored to your needs.

  • I’m both! And more. What I do is a blend of health coaching, executive coaching and performance coaching, because your life doesn’t happen in neat little boxes.

I look at the whole picture: your body, your brain, your goals, your habits, your stress levels, your career, your strengths, your challenges, your life. It’s all connected. This isn’t about optimizing one piece of the pie — it’s about aligning the whole thing (er, pie) so you feel clear, capable and fully in charge of where you’re headed.

  • Everything we discuss, starting with our initial consultation call, is completely confidential. I provide a private space for honesty, reflection and growth, and as a coach certified by the NBHWC, I take the code of ethics I was taught (and tested on) very seriously. I’m also ethically bound to break confidentiality only in rare and serious situations (e.g. illegal activity, pursuant to valid court order or subpoena or imminent or likely risk of danger to self or to others). Outside of that, everything you share stays between us.

  • Health coaching is not covered by insurance at this time. That said, as a Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, depending on the type of program, my services may be eligible for payment through your HSA or FSA account. You can find more info on that here. In addition, in some cases, you may also be able to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, especially, if you’re working with me as part of a care plan for a specific medical condition, or were referred by your physician, which may further support eligibility.
